We're two best friends that decided that we'd share our minds with the rest of you. And honestly, that's what we're doing. Everything you see is from our own minds [unless we give credit in the description to other sources] and we're proud to say we're both self-taught. Nothing really scares us in this world more than each other and even then, it takes a lot. Sometimes we like to play in lava but that's only when the floor is out of commission. From paintings to dioramas, this is Entwined Chaos.

A Chaotic Interwebs

Once in a while, you do something you're proud of.

So many people have been asking when we'll have our website up and running... Well, it's up and running! No, we don't have any merchandise (currently being sold) on the website or store as of yet however, the website is published for you all to go peruse!

We're completely open to listen to your works of commission if you'd like something. We do apologize we do not have much up in lieu of our portfolio but we both just got back into our passion and we have a ton going on in our personal lives. It is completely understandable if you have second thoughts on anything we do. It's to be expected.

So let us know what you think of the website and remember, we're still working things on it so it isn't "flawless" as of yet. If you run into any problems, broken links, or things that make your brain explode do these two things:

1. Film your brain exploding. We love the movie "Scanners" and we'd love to see that recreated in real-life if you can....... (Legally, of course.)
2. Contact us at "contact@entwinedchaos.com" and let us know what's going on. Give us screenshots, what type of mobile device or computer you're using, the browser used, the OS currently in-date on your device and anything else that might help us troubleshoot the problem faster. Please be sure you troubleshoot yourselves before contacting us. We may not be able to get to your request or concern right away!! We do apologize ahead of time.

What are some worlds you'd like to see built by Entwined Chaos? Is there a movie, fairy tale, or story you've heard that you'd like a different rendition on? Let us know!! We'd love to hear what worlds you all "live" in when you escape reality.
With Entwined Chaos, you have endless possibilities...

It's A Nightmare... BEFORE CHRISTIMAS!!

https://static3.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/The-Nightmare-Before-Christmas-3D-Poster.jpg
FINALLY! After having a time-crunch and being told it needed to be shipped by Christmas (and then the client not wanting it and saying I ruined their child's Christmas.. Go figure) "The Nightmare Before Christmas" model/diorama is finished!! I didn't get what I wanted done to it as I was under the assumption it was going to be shipped in time for Christmas for a five-year-old and then I was told, "I don't care what you do with it." all because UPS was going to charge me over $400 for shipping to a P.O. Box. I tried to get a physical address but, apparently, their UPS store doesn't charge that and they said I was lying. *shrugs* I guess that's the cost of being a nice guy and doing for others, right?

Anyway, enjoy the short video of what is done to it as it is being given to someone in time for Christmas no matter what. There's also a small part under "Pumpkin Hill" carved out for a musical box that plays "Jack's Lament" as he walks down the hill.

Follow The Red Brick Road!πŸ‘ πŸ§±πŸ›£️

The witching month is upon us. And what better part of the year than to now to plant ideas in one's head?

One of the most iconic and technologically advancing movies in all of movie history, The Wizard of Oz (1939) went leaps and bounds above any movie of its time. From literal smoke and mirrors to a color changing horse and so much more -- "The Wizard of Oz" movie set the tone for films advancing to come. If you're not familiar with the movie (since you've been living in a void all of your life) the quick and dirty: A Kansas girl is caught inside of a tornado on her family's farm and bumps her head, she goes to a faraway land called "Oz" and goes on a magical journey throughout to find a heart, brain and some courage all while trying to get home. In the midst of it all, she accidentally killed this evil Witch whose sister just happens to find out... Who then makes the journey a living hell for them all! They find where they need to get the three items [aforementioned] and they all live happily-ever-after...

So what does this have to do with Halloween, you ask? Well, the witches and magicalness of it all. Of course! Honestly, I love this movie as well as Alice In Wonderland (1956), The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (1925), Thunderbirds (1965), Gulliver's Travels (1996), and so many others outside of those genres! Honestly; Horror, comedy, dark comedy, documentary... the list goes on for me.

Which brings us to "The Red Brick Road", Halloween and what brought me to talk about this here and now. See, a long time ago, when I first watched "Oz" I thought to myself (like many others), "Where does the red brick road lead?" And then I was perusing the interwebs and came across some very DIFFERENT "Oz" miniatures and it hit me, THAT'S WHERE THE RED BRICK ROAD LEADS!! If you're a follower of ours on Facebook, then you've seen the image above and have an idea as to where I'm headed with my thought-process of this.

In our society, we try to live fantasies that we see and hear about.. sometimes, fantasies that we just dream in our own minds. Since the dawn of time, we've tried to make a happy ending in a Utopian filled world that doesn't exist... actually exist. With the advent of technology, we have been able to make strides in bringing those fantasies and dreams to reality. Just like "Gulliver's Travels" and "Thunderbirds" [among many others] made me fall in love with miniatures, video games and movies as well as television shows has brought affection to many other genres and worlds that many only read or thought about.

From Cyberpunk to Diesel and Biopunk to live action role-playing (LARPing) and Dungeons & Dragons/Renaissance Fairs/Festivals, you can become anyone you want to be inside any world at any moment in time with others that "live" that life. Although I love each of those respectively, I've always been drawn to Steampunk. Why? Because of the modern technology being set in the middle of the Victorian-age is there. You wear the "top hats" and cumber-buns complete with monocles and bug-eyed goggles for the men (if you have a genderπŸ™„) to corsets and neck-line Berthas to cage crinolines and arm length gloves for the women. (This is all what you wish to wear, obviously. Just so long as you stay with the Victorian dress-code!!) Everything is built with/around copper pipes and cogs along with bits and bobs you find around you. So long as it CAN be "powered" by "steam" in some way. πŸ˜‰

And all of that brings us to this thought-process; "The Wizard of Oz"'s Red Brick Road, in my own little twisted mind, leads us to an "Oz" of nothing but Steampunk. The Flying Monkeys are in-fact steam propelled robots while Lion is a bad-ass that smokes a fat cigar and carries a handgun. Scarecrow keeps to his name but only on the outside while Dorthy, she's just a lost little girl with her little doggy that stumbled upon the wrong door when her home landed in Kansas.

Yes, I know. Not long ago there was a television mini-series that was somewhat along this realm entitled "Tin Man" and believe you me, I absolutely fell in LOVE with that three-part series! I love when an artist (in any genre) can take work that has been done over and over then stomped into the ground and make me fall in love with it again. "Tin Man" had never been done before on that level, not even the thought process of how some of the characters worked. The story of Tinman needing to find a heart and then Scarecrow (Glitch) needing to find a brain, it was beautiful and beyond well-done story. It didn't even need all of the flashy CGI and special effects in my opinion, they could have done without all of that, done practical effects and it still would've done the same for me.

I've not gotten all of my materials just yet for this project but I will try my best to film some of the process as I work on it. Before it gets started [however] I do have a few other projects like the "Dark Priest" which you can currently see progress photos of on Facebook and some on our Instagram, and I have a "The Nightmare Before Christmas" diorama I must get started by the second week of October so I can have it shipped to California before Christmas as a present! It's a time crunch, but it's beyond worth the time, effort, a little bit of self-brought stress, and the experience to do it all. I absolutely love doing things like this. My normal "job" is my therapy by day but this, this is something that I've always had a heart for ever since I seen my first movie that used miniatures... I just wanted to build a world that looked as though you could walk right in and be a part of.

What are some worlds you'd like to see built by Entwined Chaos? Is there a movie, fairy tale, or story you've heard that you'd like a different rendition on? Let us know!! We'd love to hear what worlds you all "live" in when you escape reality.

What's Going On With This Chaos??

At the start of 2019, the two of us began talking one night about our passions. One of us loves to paint unique and one-of-a-kind paintings whilst the other loves to create small worlds. During that discussion we both realized, we wanted to share it with the world but it would take away from our personal lives and we certainly did not want to become greedy freaks like so many others.

That's when we both decided that we had to jump into the minds of others as well as create their fantasies or recreate something that no one else ever had, just for them. Although there is no way we could pull together $35,000 USD we knew we could do this on the lowest possible budget, if we made the right choices. We don't buy the most expensive of products although there are some products that we both use that we do splurge a little bit on, not for the name or because of who endorses it, but because we know they are reliable.

Slowly (but surely) we began putting together our social media accounts, looking for a place online to open a store without breaking our banks but still making a small profit, securing our domain name and getting the process of Trademark going, and building up this Blogger account until we're able to afford an actual website. All told, we've spent just under $50 not including any supplies for our art and by the time the online store is opened, we should be on-track at spending just under $100. Is that even possible? So far, yes. (We'll be sure to update you if it goes over that!!)

So why are we even telling you any of this? Because we want you to know that we're actually going to be opening our online store fairly soon although it may not be in the spot that is listed now, but we promise nothing will change as far as products and packages we offer! Also, we want to be as transparent as possible without giving away too much information that doesn't need to be public. Thus, we're telling you our process and we want you to come along with us on this journey as we will be creating your dream worlds and making endless possibilities a reality with your help.

The two of us have personal lives as well as families but we never want you to think you're intruding on that when you have questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, or want to ask us about a commission. We created Entwined Chaos for you to be able to express yourself [through us] and show your dreams, that become reality, to the world. Will this be a multi-million dollar company? Does 8x8=64? We just want to do what we love while diving into your mind and putting the Entwined Chaos spin on your dream.

So sit back, continue to dream, and when you see that we've opened our store (completely) e-mail us or message us on Facebook to discuss what we can do for you. Everyone has something they've wanted to make a reality, why not do it through Entwined Chaos?

*Currently, we are taking commissions in small amounts. Please feel free to message or e-mail us at any time of the day or night. We'll reply promptly!*

Paintings and Models and Minis... OH MY! 😱

Paintings and Models and Minis... OH MY!

As some of you have already seen at the online store, there are a few different item categories to choose from. But what do each of them mean exactly? We're going to break it down, chaotically, for you!

Paintings
We would hope this is quite self-explanatory but just in case, we'll make sure you do understand with giving you a little more information.
Paintings are exactly what the name suggests, PAINTINGS! These are canvas painted paintings. The size of the canvas paintings are normally done in 16x22 with 8x10 being the next most common done here at Entwined Chaos. That being said, we're up for tackling any size so long as we can get that canvas and it can be shipped!!

Dioramas
What in the hell is a die-oh-rom-uh?! Some of you know exactly what this is and to others, you're new to the word. Think of a diorama [in its definition] as a small-scale model of a scene. In the model world however, it can be any and everything that can be dreamed of. Reality, fantasy, non-fiction, events from history.. The list is LITERALLY never-ending!

Most dioramas are fairly small meaning that the average size is anywhere around the neighborhood of 6 x 6 x 8 [inches] or 152 x 152 x 203 [millimeters and the most used metric system through the small-scale/model world]. If you've heard the term "HO scale" then you've more than likely came across a railroad model. These are simply beautiful and some of the most, if not the most, realistic scenes you will ever find.

The most common measurements in HO scale is one foot or 3.5 mm. This is, of course, from side to side. The height is usually no more than two and a half inches or so. [The height and width of the train itself. Buildings, trees, people, scatter, etc. are measured to fit this scale of course. 1:87 scale is what you may find it listed as as well.]

Chaos Package
It's a package, that's the first thing you need to know!! It's a package of a painting and a model! You'll get a deal and save money but these will be very limited when they're available.

The painting and model [or diorama] will be within the same theme and/or world. Dragons and fairies? The painting and model will play off of one another. An apocalyptic city? Again, both will play off the other. To be clear, these will come in VERY limited and on a first come, first serve basis. So if you see that we have a Chaos Package, don't expect it to be there for too long as once it is bought... It will never return again!

In Conclusion
These are the current packages we will be offering and we're working on at the moment. We might come out with more in the future but we felt it fitting and it made more sense, as chaotic as the two of us are, to have it as simple for you all as possible. Once the store opens, you'll notice there are only about five items available at any given time. This does not mean that is all we have for sale. We will also post to Instagram and Facebook what else is for sale. What is on the store are what is easier to put up for sale and we can't, currently, afford to buy more inventory slots so that is why the limited number of items are/will be listed on the actual store.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions or would like to run things by us then please feel free to contact us here. We will answer you as soon as our entwined minds come out of the chaotic bliss that is this world.

Endless possibilities await...
